how can one be considered an athiest?
athiest means you believe god does not exist.
agnostic means you don't know if god really exist.
'Athiest' means nothing.
Now, if you meant 'atheist', that would be another thing

Simply - an agnostic keeps an open mind as to whether a god exists - they haven't seen any evidence yet.
An atheist has concluded that there is no evidence for the existence of a god.

As H4O says - its a popular and extremely misleading misquote. In the correct context, Peter is saying he's sticking with Jesus (not an organisation) because Jesus has the words of eternal life - and for emphasis, a further reason/statement is made in verse 69 - because he believes that Jesus is the Messiah.
If the org wants to apply verse 68 to itself therefore, it MUST, by default also apply verse 69 to itself. I didn't realise this until just now!
The WTS is claiming to be the Messiah. I wonder if they realise?!

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
Took time out from JWD this week as it was having a harmful effect on me, I need to spend less time here. I hope this place doesn't have the same effect on lurking active JWs but sadly I suspect it does on many - let the reader understand.
Went to stay with friends earlier in the week, that really restored my sanity, they'll never know how much that short break meant. Now I'm back into studying and getting my essays done.
I had a job interview yesterday which went well, very few of a big group of us made it past the literacy and numeracy tests stage to the actual interview so even if i don't get the job, I'm quite proud of my acheivement.

Wednesday's voluntary work was fun so I've signed up for every week until I'm working again. And it was the new neighbours who got their door broken down.
I found a mink running around my garden this evening - Yorkie had decided he was gonna try and attack it - but couldn't get near the vicious little critter, neither of them was backing down though so much to his annoyance, I hauled him indoors, he would have gotten seriously injured if he had got into paw-to-paw combat. One of my neighbours has working terriers so I might ask him to bring them across if I see it again - I'm more concerned about it attacking my toothless kitty as she can't fully defend herself and the stress could kill her too.
I've been doing lots of studying interspersed with job hunting and breaks on pogo games the last few days - I've been doing a very time consuming pogo challenge since Tuesday but finally completed it half an hour ago - I will go to sleep happy now lol!

i have swung with the pendulum on this endeavour over the years.... my best year ever i had 32 different food "crops" but as more kids arrived and the deer population encoached on "my" encroachment, i let it disappear from the " to do " list".
this year, i am determined to get back at it full force...... with modifications to accomodate my "older" knees and the still encroaching deer, using the "square foot gardening" approach as well as container gardening on the deck..... anyone here have experience with either?.
having just finished a nutrition course and dealing with the rising costs of fresh food ( that is not over salted or corn syrup sweetened), i really feel an urgency to try to supplement what is available .

I'm optimistic - mine can't get any worse than last year - totally ruined because of all the rain and very little sun - even my potatoes were poor!
